Stoke versus Hull City tomorrow is an important game for both clubs.Hull are desperate to stay in the Championship,Stoke are equally keen to escape it in an upward direction.
Realistically Stoke need to win their last 3 games. That done it is fairly certain that some of the teams immediately above them will lose some points so that Stoke make the playoffs.Very much in Stoke's own hands then.A bigger gate than the season average is expected to be at the Britannia Stadium tomorrow. Will Stoke get the win they need in front of their expectant fans, or will they underperform as they have done so often in the recent past in front of a large home crowd? Hopefully not the latter!
How important will Jon Parkin be to the visitors? I sense that he will get a full game. Now that we've got him fitter and scoring again, and if he plays as well as he did for Stoke against Crystal Palace, then he will be a real handful for the home defence miserly though it may be!
It is to be hoped that Fortune gets through his fitness test and plays for Stoke.Together with Higginbottom he makes a central pairing well capable of shutting out any opposing attack at this level.
By this time tomorrow we will know if the dream continues...cross everything!!
